Parker Aaron

Well I'm a little late on updating. Parker was born Tuesday January 27, 2009 at 8:01 am. He weighed 6lbs 4oz and 18.5" long. :) Not bad for being born 361/2 weeks. We amost made it to term, but I developed preeclampsia again as I did with Lilly and had to deliver early. He did well and stayed in recovery most of the time with us until he had difficulty getting fluids out of his lungs from birth. They brought him to the nursery and monitored him there for a couple hours. He was also very bruised from birth and had trouble moving his left arm since his shoulder was so bruised so they were monitoring that as well. Thankfully he started moving it more after a few hours. He continued having difficulty breathing so they sent him upstairs to the NICU for closer monitoring. They kept Parker in the NICU the 4 days we were there in the hospital just for closer monitoring with Lilly's heart history. It was kinda nice though as this hospital had private rooms for him so we could spend the whole day in his room and hold him as much as we wanted. This was just for safe measures as it was upsetting. I was hoping to avoid NICU all together this time around, but at least we knew he was being watched closely. They ran an echo to be safe as well and check for any heart issues and thankfully everything is normal. :) Other than that he was discharged the same day Friday so we all went home together. He weighed 5lbs 7oz at discharge. :)
